A chance to work with our highly qualified and experienced instructors and train at the exam centre so you are as fully prepared as possible to gain this qualification. You must be at least 19 years of age and hold a current Health and Safety Executive First Aid at Work or The BHS First Aid Certificate. You will already have experience in the horse industry, including coaching a wide variety of clients.
This qualification will provide you with the competencies to give safe and competent lessons from beginner to elementary standards without supervision, showing genuine improvement of horse and rider. You will have sound, practical business knowledge and be conversant with running a commercial yard.
BHS Intermediate Teachers will have the opportunity to register and gain the Level 3 (UKCC Endorsed) Certificate in Coaching by completing a portfolio of evidence.
The qualification has been split into two smaller qualifications. The overarching qualification title is EQL Level 5 Diploma in BHS Intermediate Teaching of Horse Riding (QCF); the two smaller qualifications which make up the larger one are EQL Level 5 Diploma in Coaching Horse Riders for Competition and EQL Level 5 Diploma in Coaching Horse Riders for the Commercial Environment.
If you are considering applying for this test you must hold the BHS Assistant Instructors Certificate or the BHS Preliminary Teaching Certificate and have logged 500 hours of teaching or completed the (BHSAI) coaching portfolio.
