This qualification will show you as able to take responsibility for yard organisation.

With this qualification the BHS explain that you will be able to take charge and look after a number of horses and ponies in a variety of situations, ensuring horses, stables, yard and fields are safe and in good order. You’ll have the experience to manage staff and students and show an all-round knowledge of equine-relevant business matters. The Equestrian Centre will prepare you to achieve this qualification and, as an exam centre, you can take the exam with us.

You will have the ability to assess and improve performance across a wide range of horses, as well as being able to ride and train horses for Elementary Dressage, Novice Horse Trials and Newcomers Show Jumping Competitions. You must be at least 18 years old for the Riding section and 19 years old for the Horse Knowledge and Care. You must have completed BHS Stage 1, 2 and 3.
